Email Privacy Notice

A quick note about data protection: you have emailed me which means that I have received some personal information from you. In order to respond I will need to process your information, – in legal terms, I have a legitimate interest in processing your data, namely to carry out my business and respond to email queries.

I will only use your information for the purpose you intended – to reply to your query, progress a contract, or take some other action.

I take your privacy seriously and keep all the information you send me secure. I store emails in the Google cloud, and documents with Dropbox for business. Both companies are based outside the EU (in the US) and have signed up to the EU-US Privacy Shield which means they have agreed to be bound by data protection rules equivalent to those in the EU.

I make use of G-Suite for my emails. Google makes use of TLS 1.2 to encrypt the channel over which messages are sent. If you are also using TLS 1.2 then this means our emails will be sent end-to-end on an encrypted channel. If your email server does not support this level of encryption then a less secure method will be used.

I keep my business and financial records for up to seven years, as required by law, and delete everything else after two years. If you want to see what information I hold about you then you can contact me any time via email. You can also ask for your data to be updated, or deleted, and you can object to processing or ask for it to be restricted.
